Oddenino"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/pavesioassociati.it\/team\/alberto-oddenino\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1550\">Alberto Oddenino<\/a> (of counsel in Pavesio Studio Legale) gave a keynote speech at<\/em> <em><a href=\"https:\/\/isa2026torino.it\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/isa2026torino.it\/\">ISA 2026<\/a>, the 45th International Symposium on Archaeometry, held in Torino from 18th to 22nd of May<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>The link to the Keynote, entitled <\/em>SCIENTIFIC DIPLOMACY AND INTERNATIONAL LAW: A FRAMEWORK OF NECESSARY INTERACTION IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF ARCHEOMETRIC STUDIES<\/strong> <em>is now available <a href=\"https:\/\/isa2026torino.it\/keynotes\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/isa2026torino.it\/keynotes\/\">here<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The contribution has been focused on the necessary interaction of scientific diplomacy and international law with reference to archeometric disciplines.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scientific diplomacy has been assessed in the broader context of cultural diplomacy, drawing from the conceptual framework provided by UNESCO.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The value of scientific diplomacy as soft power and its consistence as a vital component of diplomacy, especially in times of crisis, has been outlined.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the second part of the contribution a concise reconstruction of the international framework of legal protection of cultural protection, with particular reference to armed conflicts has been provided&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Against this background, the concluding part of the keynote has been focused on the specific need, for the archeometric sector, to carefully evaluate, in a precautionary approach, provenance of materials, affiliation of researchers, ethical and legal standards of action, funding sources.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conclusions underline the need of enucleating, on the basis of legal and ethical principles and in a perspective of risk management, some general and common guidelines for the international scientific community in the archeometric studies and practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alberto Oddenino (of counsel in Pavesio Studio Legale) gave a keynote speech at ISA 2026, the 45th International Symposium on Archaeometry, held in Torino from 18th to 22nd of May.
