Buying art with confidence: TEFAF’s “Vetting” and the “Art Loss Register” | ARTE Generali
On the occasion of TEFAF, ARTE Generali organized an event in Maastricht in collaboration with Apollo – The International Art Magazine, on the sensitive topic of combating fraud in art and invited Annapaola Negri-Clementi – Equity Partner of Pavesio e Associati with Negri-Clementi – to contribute to the collection of insights on the management of artistic heritage with an article entitled: “Buying art with confidence: TEFAF’s ‘Vetting’ and the ‘Art Loss Register’“.
In the article, Annapaola Negri-Clementi wrote about the importance of Vetting Committee and Art Loss Register, key tools to ensure the safe purchase of artworks and collectibles at TEFAF Maastricht and TEFAF New York. Thanks to a thorough due diligence process involving more than 180 international experts, each art object is carefully examined before the start of the fair to ensure its authenticity, legal provenance, and optimal state of preservation, with the aim of maintaining the integrity of the art market and creating trust among collectors.
